TN 2012 Archery Season

   Tennessee Deer season is almost under way. The 2012 archery season will open on September 22nd and will cooler weather already setting in, I would look for good success early this season. Scouting this summer has been a lot more pleasant this year than in recent years. Normally August weather is unbearable and very lucky to get more than the 1st hour or 2 of the morning before it gets to hot. Take advantage of this cooler weather and spend more time doing your homework and watch your success rate improve.

MAN SHOT ON TN WMA

BLOUNT Co, Tenn. --

The Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency is currently investigating a hunting accident in Blount County.

On Dec. 3, in the early afternoon, TWRA officers responded to a hunting accident in the Calderwood Reservoir area of the Foothills Wildlife Management Area in Blount County.

One man was shot by another hunter while both were bear hunting.

The injured hunter, Ronnie Summey, 59, of Greenback, was struck in the lower abdomen and was airlifted to UT Hospital.

The incident is under investigation by TWRA and the Blount County Sheriff’s Office.
