MAN SHOT ON TN WMA

BLOUNT Co, Tenn. --

The Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency is currently investigating a hunting accident in Blount County.

On Dec. 3, in the early afternoon, TWRA officers responded to a hunting accident in the Calderwood Reservoir area of the Foothills Wildlife Management Area in Blount County.

One man was shot by another hunter while both were bear hunting.

The injured hunter, Ronnie Summey, 59, of Greenback, was struck in the lower abdomen and was airlifted to UT Hospital.

The incident is under investigation by TWRA and the Blount County Sheriff’s Office.

Recent Arson Fires Under Investigation on Catoosa WMA

I hope these guys get caught - Everyone should post this.

CROSSVILLE, Tenn. --- The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) and the Tennessee Department of Agriculture (TDA) are investigating arson fires on Catoosa Wildlife Management Area set during the weekend of Nov. 12-13. The fires burned in more than 100 acres of forest in portions of the management area located in Cumberland County, Tennessee.

There is a $1,500 reward being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for setting these fires. Persons with information can contact the Tennessee Arson Hotline at 1-800-762-3017. 

In addition, if it is determined the arson fires are connected with other previous criminal activities that took place earlier this year on the Catoosa Wildlife Management Area, the TWRA is offering a reward of up to $5,000. That reward is offered to the first person that offers information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the placement of spikes, nailboards, and nails. Persons can call or text Cumberland County Wildlife Officer Casey Mullen at (931) 200-2413.
